A study of two seed-borne Alternaria diseases on choumoellier : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science at Massey University

The livestock industry in New Zealand is based on a pastoral farming economy, an important aspect of which is the utilisation of fodder crops as supplementary feed during seasons of poor pasture growth. Playing an important role in this regard are the two selections of choumoellier (Brassica oleracea var. acephala D.C.) usually referred to as giant choumoellier and medium stemmed choumoellier. The growing importance of choumoellier in feed crop rotations is indicated by the increased area sown, from 8,000 acres in 1933 to 130,000 acres in 1963 (New Zealand Farm Production Statistics, 1962-63). In the past, choumoellier seed has been imported from the United Kingdom, but more recently the trend has been to promote locally grown seed. At the present time New Zealand's requirements are met in most years by South Island growers producing seed under the authority of a Government seed certification scheme. In discussing brassica crops in New Zealand, Palmer (1966) stated that - "apart from weather variations, the main uncontrollable causes of yield variations are fungus diseases, insect pests and associated virus diseases''• Seven fungus diseases are recorded in New Zealand on choumoellier (Table 1), five of which are evidenced by foliage lesioning in field stands

On Dec. 1, 1953, the Iowa and Idaho agricultural experiment stations and the United States Department of Agriculture, cooperating, announced the release of the F1 hybrid onion, Abundance, pedigree B 2108 x B 2215 . This is a long-day exceptionally high-yielding storage-type hybrid. The bulb is a high globe, light yellow in color. Specific treatment and outcome of urethrorectal fistula associated with type 1 atresia ani in a juvenile male dog

A four-month-old, entire male, German wirehaired pointer presented with tenesmus due to type I atresia ani and with urination observed through this stenosed anal opening. A positive contrast retrograde urethrogram demonstrated a urethrorectal fistula and stricture of the penile urethra. Urine culture revealed heavy mixed bacterial growth, which was treated with appropriate antibiotics. Surgical correction of the congenital urethrorectal fistula was performed via a perineal approach with a 3.5 French catheter placed retrograde into the fistula to facilitate its dissection. The anal stenosis was addressed by surgical anoplasty and the urethral stricture via a scrotal urethrostomy. The dog recovered well with the owner reporting complete resolution of the clinical signs and urination via the urethrostomy site at six months postoperatively. El secuestro conservativo y la recaudación tributaria del área funcional de administración de depósitos del Servicio de Administración Tributaria de Lima – SAT, año 2015

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general, determinar la relación que existe entre el secuestro conservativo y la recaudación tributaria del área funcional de administración de depósitos del Servicio de Administración Tributaria de Lima, año2015. El estudio de investigación fue de tipo aplicativo, nivel correlacional de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental transversal. La población de estudio estuvo conformada por 70 trabajadores, la muestra fue de 60 trabajadores y el muestreo fue probabilístico. La técnica fue una encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario con escala Likert. Se llegó a las siguientes conclusiones la información trasmitida a los contribuyentes es veras, oportuna y eficiente, en cuanto a las estrategias de recaudación se manifiesta un gran porcentaje de aceptación de los mismos por ser uniforme y consistente, con respecto a la capacitación y reconocimiento se expresa que hay dos grupos que indican siempre hay reconocimiento sin embargo se recomienda diseñar políticas de capacitación, no obstante la segmentación tributaria se da en grupos homogéneos para una recaudación tributaria efectiva, habiendo unos errores que se tienen que dar solución para llegar al 100% de lo recaudado, en los procesos de internamiento, custodia y liberación se debe hacer un seguimiento a los equipos electrónicos que son utilizables para hacer efectivo el secuestro conservativo, así como también realizar más campañas tributarias en todo Lima Metropolitana, como también existe un gran índice de morosidad entre administrados por infracciones RNT, RTU y SETAME, habiendo un comportamiento de pago débil, teniendo en cuanta la cultura tributaria de cada sector

Equity in Financing Health Care Services in Nigeria

Health care services in Nigeria are mainly financed through out-of-pocket payment. This study investigated the extent to which payments towards health care are related to ability to pay and if poor households make proportionally more out-of-pocket payment on health. In analyzing this, the study utilized data from the General household survey of the National Bureau of statistics of 2014. The study employed the Kakwani progressivity index in analyzing the objectives of the study. The findings from the study shows a regressive out-of-pocket payment which suggests that payments towards healthcare are not related to ability to pay. Panoramic, large-screen, 3-D flight display system design

The report documents and summarizes the results of the required evaluations specified in the SOW and the design specifications for the selected display system hardware. Also included are the proposed development plan and schedule as well as the estimated rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost to design, fabricate, and demonstrate a flyable prototype research flight display system. The thrust of the effort was development of a complete understanding of the user/system requirements for a panoramic, collimated, 3-D flyable avionic display system and the translation of the requirements into an acceptable system design for fabrication and demonstration of a prototype display in the early 1997 time frame. Eleven display system design concepts were presented to NASA LaRC during the program, one of which was down-selected to a preferred display system concept. A set of preliminary display requirements was formulated. The state of the art in image source technology, 3-D methods, collimation methods, and interaction methods for a panoramic, 3-D flight display system were reviewed in depth and evaluated. Display technology improvements and risk reductions associated with maturity of the technologies for the preferred display system design concept were identified
